True Tools is a series of quick posts where we highlight some of our favorite tools--we think there's a good chance they become some of your favorite tools, too.
This week, I want to talk about Canva, a web-based graphic design tool that's perfect for design newbies. As a digital agency, we're lucky enough to have in-house graphic design support, but I know many of our clients don't have that luxury, or the budget it would require. For quick and easy graphics to use on social media or in email campaigns, Canva is about as simple as it can be. After all, we all know posts with graphics get more social shares and comments--and the data is there to prove it!
The Canva system is basically drag and drop, and it's got an arsenal of pre-loaded templates, already sized for just about any purpose you can think of--Instagram posts, Facebook Stories, Blog Headers--you name it! You can upload your own logo/stock photos or you can work with Canva's library. The templates are all sorted by category, with subcategories for different types of theme or topic that you might need. And since the templates are already optimized with the right dimensions, there are no nasty surprises when you go to put your new work of art into service on your blog or social feed.
More established companies are going to want and need the support of a full creative design package, but for "solo-prenuers" or those just starting out, Canva can help you build a brand and get a consistent look and feel across different outlets. It's also a great way to mockup a quick and dirty version of a graphic you need to have polished by a graphic design team like the one at True Productions. You can use Canva to create ideas for a logo or brand concept, and then our team will dig in and get you all the print-ready files you need.
Canva has a few different pricing options, including a free plan that includes everything you need to get started. If you're struggling with the look and feel of your email content in Infusionsoft or another mail service and you're looking for help, I recommend you check it out. I think you're going to love it!
